What to Expect During Adolescent IOP

  •  Initial Medication Evaluation and Assessment- A board-certified psychiatrist will meet with you to discuss treatment options. During the initial assessment, our psychiatrist will assess if you are appropriate for IOP services.
  • Intake Assessment- A comprehensive 60 to 90-minute assessment will be conducted by a licensed mental health professional. During the assessment, the therapist will ask questions about what brings you in for treatment, history of treatment, and social functioning.
  • Ongoing Medication Management- Finding the right medication type and dosage can be a challenging process. At Confidential Care a board-certified psychiatrist will meet with you once a week to discuss medication, and make adjustments if appropiate.
  • Individual Therapy- Confidential Care uses the following evidenced based treatment models: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cogitative Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Behavioral Activation (BA), and Insight Orientated therapy. Individual therapy is offered weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, as determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Group Therapy- IOP groups are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 6 until 9 pm.
  • Family Supported Therapy- Family supported therapy is focused on helping the family find strategies to help you reach your treatment goals. Family supported therapy is offered weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, as determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Case Management and Coordination of Care- With your written consent, a mental health professional will assist you in working with employers and insurance companies while you are in the recovery process.
  • Ongoing Risk Assessments- Our psychiatrist works closely with the therapist to provide ongoing risks assessments, and crisis intervention. The goal of IOP treatment is to help you figure out coping strategies without having to endure hospitalizations.
  • 24 Hour Answering Service- Our office has staff available 24 hours a day to assist in the event you are experiencing emotional difficulties after hours. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911, or seek help from a provider in your local emergency department.
